Information for Students

Class size for all instruments, with the exception of string band, storytelling and Kids on the Creek, is limited to 10.  Please register as early as possible to be sure you get the class you want.  If interested, you can indicate a second class choice on the registration form in case your first choice isn’t available.  Students registering for the string band class should indicate what instrument they will be playing.

Tuition for all classes is $200 for Kentucky residents, $250 for out-of-state students and $100 for Kids on the Creek.  Tuition includes class instruction and any written materials, lunch, afternoon activities and admission to all master recitals, square dances and concerts.

Registration
All adults, and kids who don’t plan to apply for a scholarship, should send a deposit of $50 with the registration form. Your class space is not held until we receive your deposit.  The remaining tuition will be due the first morning of classes.  If you are unable to attend the school, your deposit will be refunded in full, if you notify the school before June 10th.  If the class you’ve chosen is full and you haven’t indicated a second choice, your deposit will be returned.  Youth ages 3 to 18 who are applying for a scholarship do not need to send a deposit.  Sorry, on-line registration is not yet available.

Within two weeks of registration, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail or a post card.  Around June 1st students will receive a letter with last minute reminders.  Please be sure to check this for the location of your morning class as this may change.  Instructors and visiting masters may be substituted without notice. Registration forms MUST be received by June 10th, 2017. Click HERE to register.

Youth Scholarships are available for Kentucky students 18 and under. Click HERE for more information.

Work Study
We are able to offer a limited number of work study positions for students over 18.  In exchange for 10 hours of work during the week (washing dishes, clean up and such), students get $100 off their tuition. Please indicate on your registration that you are interested in applying for a work study position.
