Information for Students

Class size for all instruments is limited to 15.  Please register as early as possible to be sure you get the class you want.  If while registering online you find your class choice is already full, you can indicate another class choice.

Tuition for all classes is $120 for adults.  Tuition includes one Zoom platform class and access to all virtual workshops, jam sessions and concerts.  All students age 18 and younger can receive full scholarships in 2021!  Scholarships are also available for adults who need them.

Scholarships  All youth age 18 and younger are eligible for a full scholarship this year thanks to a generous bequest from Nancy & Harvey McClellan.  Youth should register for their class and secure their scholarship by emailing CCMMS Coordinator Stacy Dollarhide at  slyndollarhide@gmail.com or call (606) 335-5350. If you prefer to send a check for tuition rather than use the online service, please contact Stacy and use the address below.  All students are encouraged to get signed up as soon as possible because class sizes are limited.

And when you register online you can order our special 20th anniversary t-shirt and CD featuring the best of  CCMMS faculty and visiting master performances – Art Stamper, Paul David Smith and many more!   T-shirts are $25 , CDs $20 or both for $40, shipping included.

Work Study

We are able to offer a limited number of work study positions for students over 18.  In exchange for 10 hours of work during the week (washing dishes, clean up and such), students get $100 off their tuition. Please contact Stacy Dollarhide cowancreekmountainmusic@gmail.com if you are interested in applying for a work study position.

100_0150The Cowan Elementary School, Cowan Community Center and Appalshop are wheelchair accessible. The Cowan Creek Mountain Music School is a family event; no alcohol, drugs, profanity or frowns are permitted.
