Art Mize is a luthier, musician and music teacher who lives in Lexington, Kentucky. He has repaired and restored violin family instruments since 1997 and received the first Homer Ledford Award in 2007. He has played Bluegrass fiddle since high school and has explored fiddling traditions from Old-time Kentucky fiddling to Celtic, blues and jazz. He also teaches fiddle, guitar and mandolin and performs with his wife, Diane Timmons.
