Afternoon workshops are offered each day in or on the grounds of the Cowan Community Center from 3:30 – 4:30pm. You can take as many as you like! Note: The “From Scratch” classes are back. Borrow a friend’s instrument and try something new!
Here are just a few of the fun workshops we’ll be offering this year:
Monday: Beginning Flat Foot Dance and Clogging – Carla Gover
Tuesday: Old Regular Baptist Line Singing with the congregation of the Big Cowan Old Regular Baptist Church (next to Community Center)
Wednesday: Gus Cannon-style Blues Banjo Picking – Hubby Jenkins
Thursday: History of the Banjo from Africa to Appalachia – George Gibson
Friday: Students Teach! Bring a favorite tune or technique to share.
